Objectives: Students will analyze how the last eight years have shaped the campaigns of the 2016 presidential candidates.

Watch: (First half of) President Obama's DNC Speech

"Obama's Speech Reflection" Due Tuesday

Due: Absolute Location Scavenger Hunt

Objectives: Students will understand the physical forces that shape earth's surface.

 

Weekly Reading: Chapter 2, pages 28 - 44

Assignment: Chapter 2 Reading Review on Canvas, Due Thursday. (Must score 80%)

Google Earth Project, Step 1: Due Friday

Due: "Trump Speech Reflection"

Objectives: Students will analyze the fundamental purpose of government. Students will understand classic theories on the function/purpose of government. Students will understand the principles of the "state of nature" theory."

Notes

Activity: "Survivor"

Textbook Reading: "WTP" pages 1-6

TUESDAY

"Obama's Speech Reflection" Due

Objectives: Students will understand the objectives, accomplishments, and consequences of the Obama administration.

Notes

Assignment: "Obamacare 101," Due Wednesday

 

Objectives: Students will apply knowledge of physical geography using Google Earth

 

Project Work Time

Objectives: Students will understand "natural rights theory" and the "social contract theory" and how they give consent to be goverend.

Notes

Students will understand the instructions for the Unit 1 project.

Students will register to vote.

Activity: "Survivor"

 

WEDNESDAY

Assignment: "Obamacare 101," Due

Objectives: Students will analyze the consequences of Obama's policies, specifically the Affordable Care and Patient Protection Act.

Objectives: Students will improve their understanding of how human action affects climate.

Assignment: "Inconvenient Truth," WS, Due Monday

Bellringer: Trump and his Second Amendment Comment

Objectives: Students will understand Locke's "right to rebel" and the circumstances where rebellion is authorized. Students will understand the differences between "limited" and "unlimited" government.

Objectives: Students will analyze the consequences of Obama's social policies and social change taking place during his administration.
