Objectives: Students will understand the United States' response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks and how this connects to the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

Notes:

Watch: The Hunt for bin Laden

Objective: Students will be introduced to the physical geography of Latin America.

Physical Map Assignment, Due Tuesday

Watch: "Secrets of the Aztecs"

Weekly Reading: Chapters 8 (all) and 9 (pgs. 216-220)

Weekly Reading Guide: pg. 206 (#3-8), pg. 210 (#3,5,6), pg. 220 (#3,4,6-8), Due Thursday

Objective: Students will be introduced to Nebraska's legislative process. Students will learn about our State Senator.

TUESDAY

Objectives: Students will understand how the United States addressed the al Qaeda in Afghanistan and the hunt for Osama bin Laden.

Watch: The Hunt for bin Laden

Physical Map Assignment, Due

Objectives: Students will understand the consequences of the European "Age of Discovery" on Latin America.

Christopher Columbus and Bartolome de las Casas Readings, Done in class

Objective: Students will understand the steps taken in the state legislative process. Students will analyze legislation being considered at the state level.

Objectives: Students will review for the Unit 1: War on Terrorism Test

Objectives: Students will understand the significance of the Amazon Rainforest to the World's bio-diversity. Students will learn about the natives that live in the Amazon.

Objective: Students will analyze legislation being considered at the state level.
