Crofton High School One-Act Wins First In State
Crofton High School’s one-act team brought home the gold at Thursdays State C1 One-Act competition. After the team won first in districts, they had four practices to prepare themselves for state. A goal meeting with students concluded that students wanted to place in the top three.
Among six schools across Nebraska, Malcolm placed third, Ravenna placed second and Crofton placed first. “This was accomplished because hard working, talented students sacrificed together. They were willing to do what needed to be done without complaint. And that’s just what Crofton students do” said CHS one-act director Mitch Hofer.
Crofton students walked into this competition feeling confident and focused. Every actor on the team got a medal for their hard work and dedication to the show. Junior Tyler Janssen was awarded the best male actor award for C1.
“Overall it was a great experience. Just to be able to witness all of the plays to be there in the first place. It was the perfect ending to the season” said sophomore Kaylee Kock.
This season’s one-act team met 100% of their goals. “I’ve already had other freshmen say they wish they would have gone out this year and will next year,” said freshmen Allie Dahl. Crofton’s one-act team should be a success for years to come.
