Crofton-Bloomfield Wrestlers Compete At A Triangular
Compete At A Triangular
Crofton-Bloomfield wrestlers took on a triangular against Pierce and BonHomme/Scotland/Avon. Crofton-Bloomfield lost against both teams in these dual with scores of 54-30(Pierce) and 48-33(B/S/A). “We were missing three wrestlers, which hurt our chance at winning this duel, and overall the triangular,” stated Coach Caden Alexander. The next duel will be held against and in Randolph on December 14th at 6:00P.M.
Through this year there are three currently undefeated wrestlers, which were state qualifiers last year: Crofton’s seniors Ethan Poppe and Jaden Janssen and Bloomfield’s senior Quinten Moles, who also achieved his 100th career win and was the first to achieve this accomplishment at Bloomfield.
At this specific meet there were both pros and cons on how the team did overall and individually. One pro was that the wrestlers got to wrestle two full teams, instead of a only a few members. There were a few cons along as well because Crofton-Bloomfield had been missing three wrestlers that were to compete at this meet. Another issue is that not everyone is at the intended weight class and with this meet it left not only three spaces but five causing the team to give up 30 points right away, making it hard to win this dual. “To make improvements on our performances, we need better technique and also make a better mental scoring,” commented Alexander. Crofton warriors, sophomore, Hunter Hegge thought.
“We need to work more on our stance.” “Overall this meet was okay and with more practice and hardwork we will be better in meets to come,” said Crofton warriors, sophomore, Jarrin Sage.
