CHS FFA Members Compete in Livestock Judging
On Wednesday, January 31, some FFA members participated in livestock judging at Northeast Community College in Norfolk. There were 513 participants in all three districts. In Crofton’s district there were 79 in the Senior division and 86 in the Junior division.
The students that participated in the Senior division were Jessica Lange, Mariah Dather, Allison Altwine, Tyler Janssen, and Sydney Tramp. In the Junior division there was Hope Steffen, Lauren Buschkamp, Sarah Kleinschmit, Casper Guenther, Connor Arens, and Jarrin Sage. In the Senior division, out of all 79 participants in our district, Jessica Lange placed first and Mariah Dather placed fifth. In the Junior division, out of 86 students, Hope Steffen placed ninth and Jarrin Sage placed fifteenth. Placing this high in the Senior division, they placed second and qualified for State FFA on April 4-6, 2018 in Lincoln. The next competition the FFA chapter will be competing in is the District Career and Development Events in Norfolk at the Northeast Community College on February 27.
