Story Time with Shakespeare

Story image 1_0

Have you ever written a book? Well, the current English 11 class at Crofton High School is finding out if they have what it takes to be an author. They are currently working on a project where they are taking the play “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” written by William Shakespeare, and turning into either a children’s or comic book. The groups are using a variety of software to create their books including Canva, Google Docs, Google Slides, and StoryJumper.

One of the groups has chosen to make the play into a comic book using the Canva website, a free website that is used for graphic design. When asked why their group chose a comic book, Jessica Lange replied, “We wanted to be different.”

All of the other groups are creating a children’s book. One group is using Google Slides, an application used to make presentations on any topic imaginable. This group is taking advantage of Google Slides’ ability to add in a variety of shapes in different sizes and colors to illustrate their book. “It is fun and neat to find out what you can do with Google Slides” said Sydney Tramp.

The project is due on Thursday, February, 15. The groups are expected to present their books to the class before handing them in.
