Crofton Artists Compete at Midstates Art Show

On Friday, April 6, Crofton sent 72 pieces of art to Norfolk to compete in the Midstates Art Show.

All pieces can earn four different ribbons: first place purple, second place blue, third place red, and fourth place white. They can also earn Best of Show and the Teacher’s Choice Award.

Crofton managed to take the Best of Show awards in both the junior high (7-9) and high school (10-12) divisions. Freshman Quinn Schieffer won the junior high division while junior Allison Altwine won the high school division.

Crofton also won both Teacher’s Choice Awards with freshman Anastacia Suing winning the junior high division and sophomore Karmen Koch winning the high school division.

Crofton’s purple ribbon winners are:

  • Seventh grade: Brianna Berger and Piper Dather.  

  • Eighth grade: Wade Pedersen, Sabrina Kaiser, and Rowdy Hegge.

  • Freshman: Brittany Tramp, Anastacia Suing on three different pieces, Kelsey Schroeder, Kelsey Schieffer, and Quinn Schieffer.

  • Sophomores: Karmen Koch on two different pieces, Thomas Honeywell, Taylor Arens, and Taylor Jansen.

  • Juniors: Allison Altwine on two pieces, Julie Jones, Danielle Steffen, and Taylor Tindle.

  • Seniors: Maria Promes on two pieces, Shayla Barr on three pieces, and Lauren Arens on two pieces.

Crofton’s blue ribbon winners are:

  • Seventh grade: Class project, Blair Jordan, and Piper Dather

  • Eighth grade: Jada Schmidt, Jayden Eilers, Conner Tarr, and Ella Wragge

  • Freshman: Sarah Kleinschmit and Abbey Steffen

  • Sophomores: Keirra Vornhagen on two pieces, Taylor Jansen, Karmen Koch, and Hunter Hegge

  • Juniors: Allison Altwine, Danielle Steffen on two pieces, Taylor Tindle, and Neuhalfen

  • Seniors: Shayla Barr and Miles Bossman on two pieces.

Crofton’s red ribbon winners are:

  • Seventh grade: Gerald Greger

  • Eighth grade: Sabrina Kaiser, Mayson Ostermeyer, Kelsey Kleinschmit, Cheyenne Anderson, and Alexis Folkers

  • Sophomores: Taylor Jansen, Jaidyn Johnson, and Jayce Joslin

  • Juniors: Stephanie Dohrman, Hunter Neuhalfen, Julie Jones, and Alexis Suing

  • Seniors: Reagan Johnson and Shayla Barr

Crofton’s white ribbon winners are:

  • Seventh grade: Brooke Lammers

  • Eighth grade: Jayden Jordan, Sabrina Kaiser

  • Seniors: Raven Suing

Based on all the ribbons received, Crofton is hoping to add another win onto their six year winning streak at the show.
