About the Horatio Alger Alumni Association

The Horatio Alger Alumni Association was established in 2004 for National Scholars who had graduated from college in recognition of the Association’s 20th anniversary of scholarship giving. The first Alumni Summit was held in 2004 and led to the formation of the Alumni  Advisory Committee (AAC) as well as the Proclamation that has subsequently guided the work of the Alumni Association. At the 2007 Summit in Washington, D.C., the Alumni Association developed the Blueprint for Success to build on the work accomplished under the Proclamation in 2004. In November 2014, the AAC voted to expand a number of their services to a larger constituency, drawing in Horatio Alger Association State Scholar Alumni; in 2015, two State Scholar Alumni were appointed as advisers to the AAC and tasked with drafting plans to expand Association resources to the entire alumni population.
