Crofton had a very successful day of music making at District Music Competition in Laurel on Friday! Both band and chorus received superior ratings from all 3 judges earning them a plaque! Many students performed solos and duets as well and those results are included. Jack Schieffer has also been awarded the NSAA Honorable Mention award for his vocal solo! #WarriorWay

The fourth grade class traveled to the Knox County Fairgrounds to attend "Life on the Farm". They were able to learn about farm safety, see Highland cattle, lambs and horses. They also learned about water conservation and egg production. Later the class headed to Yankton to the Mead Museum to see the Lewis and Clark exhibit and the World War exhibit. They were able to spend time dressing up in pioneer clothes at the interactive children's museum. Even though the 1800's one room school house was not quite ready for viewers the staff at the Mead allowed us to go into the building and see what it was like to attend school during pioneer days. This teacher even got to ring the old fashioned bell in the tower one last time. The class had a fun filled educational day! #WarriorWay

"From little seeds grow mighty trees!" In celebration of Arbor Day, the Kindergarten classes were thrilled to welcome Reed Trenhaile from the Lewis & Clark Natural Resources District. Reed shared fascinating insights about the value of trees, teaching students how to plant a tree, the different life stages it goes through, and all the wonderful benefits trees provide. Each student received their very own seedling—an exciting opportunity to nurture and grow their own mighty tree at home. A big thank-you to Reed Trenhaile and the Lewis & Clark NRD for helping our young learners connect with nature in such a meaningful way #WarrriorWay
